The FAI Schools (FAIS) team is comprised of players who remain in further education and a number of the squad members are attached to League of Ireland Clubs.

The International Team competes annually for the Carnegie Centenary Shield and the Celtic Cup is also at stake in the Northern Ireland fixture.

Our 2010 Competition kicks off at 2.30pm in Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore on St Patrick's Day, Wednesday 17 March 2010 when FAIS play host to Northern Ireland Schools with the Celtic Cup, currently held by the FAIS, also at stake. The FAIS will then travel to Haverford West where they will take on the Welsh Schools on Thursday 25 March 2010.

On Good Friday, the 2nd April 2010, FAIS will play host to the Scottish Schools in Ballybofey at 7.00pm. They will complete their Shield fixtures when they travel to Burton Albion FC to meet England Schools at 7.35pm on Friday 30 April 2010 in front of the live Sky Sports cameras.

In preparation for the Competition, FAIS scored a three one success over the visiting Australia Schools in the Oscar Traynor Complex on Thursday 28 January 2010, while the New Zealand Schools will also be visitors on Monday 12 April 2010.
