APSCIL Sunday League - First Division - 2008/2009

The APSCIL Sunday League First Division will this season consist of ten teams, with newly promoted Hull City SC and London Scottish SC replacing the relegated Bristol City SC and Manchester City SC.

Manager Paul Franklin has been busy throughout the summer and the RISSC (London) squad for the upcoming season has received a major overhaul. Eighteen players have moved on from the squad and ten newcomers have been introduced at this stage.

The official 2008/09 season commenced for RISSC (London) on Sunday 21 September 2008 with a crushing 5-1 home defeat by Aberdeen SC at the LPR Sports Ground in Sudbury Hill. However, what a difference a week makes!. On Sunday 28 September 2008, the team travelled to the Fullers Sports Ground, Chiswick to face Glasgow Rangers and came away with their finest ever result against their old foes, a crushing 7-2 victory.

Captain for the season will be the perennial Jon Carey with goalkeeper Darren Nolan filling the vice-captain role.
