FAI Crest

Ireland 2 - 2 Israel

Murphy 65
Doyle 75
Ohayon 3
Alberman 36

The U21's salvaged a draw in Longford's Flancare Park last night. The night started out badly with the visitors Moshe Ohayon scoring after 3 minutes. Israel's Gal Alberman doubled their lead after 36 minutes.

The old saying that football is a game of 2 halves turned true in this game and the fighting Irish fought back in the 2nd half. With the introduction of Kevin Doyle and Daryl Murphy. Alan Sheehan provided the cross and Murphy rose high to head in the first.

Kevin Doyle scored the second after reacting the quickest to Jay Tabb's shot after 75 minutes. Even with the draw Ireland are now ruled out making the play-offs from this group.

Wexford born Doyle (Cork City) and Waterford born Murphy (Waterford United) both play in the Eircom Premier league and when the transfer window opens they might well be moving the England.
