Don Givens selects two U21 squads...30/09/2007
Republic of Ireland U21 manager Don Givens has selected two squads for the forthcoming friendly fixture in Sweden on Friday 12 October and the UEFA Championship clash with England in Cork on Tuesday 16 October 2007. The Championship squad sees the return of Darron Gibson for the injured Stephen Gleeson and Anthony Stokes for Conor Sammon, the only changes from the squad that faced Portugal. The squad for Sweden includes six new players, Shane Supple, Keith Keane, Michael Spillane, Alan Power, Alan Sheehan and Keith Treacy.

Club Football Team slump to another defeat ..30/09/2007
The RISSC (London) football team went down to a 5-2 defeat to newly promoted Manchester City SC at South Park this afternoon. RISSC lost goalkeeper Darren Nolan to injury after twenty minutes and never recovered from the blow. Mauricio Carrillo and Mick Dunford scored for RISSC.

St Kevin's Boys return to winning ways...30/09/2007
St Kevin's Boys returned to winning ways in the DDSL U15 Premier League with an excellent 4-2 away victory over Stelle Maris this morning. Robbie Brady, reported to have agreed to join Manchester United, scored his first goal of the season and he was joined on the scoresheet by Ethan Mannion, Conor Murphy and Sean Stewart.

U19 Women qualify for UEFA Elite Phase...29/09/2007
The Republic of Ireland Under 19 Women's team qualified for the Elite Phase of the 2008 UEFA Championship with another compelling 5-0 victory over hosts Slovakia this morning. Raheny United striker Noelle Murray scored twice with the other goals coming from skipper Louise Quinn and substitutes Christina Byrne and Stephanie Roche. Switzerland defeated Croatia 6-2 in the other match to join Ireland in the Elite Phase.

eircom League of Ireland Premier Division...28/09/2007
Drogheda United extended their lead at the top of the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division to eight points with tonight's 2-1 victory over Longford Town in Flancare Park. St Patrick's Athletic and Cork City both maintained their chase with 1-0 and 2-1 away victories over Galway United and Derry City repectively. Bohemian FC defeated Sligo Rovers 3-0 and UCD scored a 2-1 success over Waterford United.

Flying UEFA U19 start for Irish Women...27/09/2007
The Republic of Ireland Under 19 Women's team opened their 2008 UEFA qualifying campaign with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Croatia this morning. Dundalk City midfielder Gillian McDonnell grabbed the glory with a four goal salvo. Midfield colleague Julienne Russell from Salthill Devon provided the fifth goal. Switzerland defeated hosts Slovakia 3-0 in the other Group 8 encounter.

Replay cruise for Cork City in FAI Ford Cup ...25/09/2007
Cork City strolled to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Waterford United in tonight's FAI Ford Cup quarter-final replay in Turner's Cross. A Denis Behan hat-trick and a strike from Liam Kearney sent the 'Leesiders' through to the semi-final where they join Bohemian FC, Longford Town and UCD.

Dr.Tony O'Neill Under 21 League...23/09/2007
Shamrock Rovers became the second club to guarantee their place in the knock-out stage of the Dr Tony O'Neill Under 21 League with their 2-1 triumph over Crumlin United on Saturday afternoon. Derry City, the other side already qualified, lost their unbeaten record when Castlebar Celtic scored a 3-2 success over the 'Candystripes' in Celtic Park.

Hourihane hits added time winner for U17s...19/09/2007
An added-time goal by Conor Hourihane, gave the Republic of Ireland U17 side victory over Slovenia in the final game of their UEFA European Championship qualifying group in Longford tonight. Ireland won Group 5 with a maximum nine points following earlier successes over Denmark and Ukraine. Denmark finished runners-up with a 2-0 win over Ukraine and will join Ireland in the next Elite phase.

Four Nations Celtic Cup looms larger...06/09/2007
Chief Executive of the Scottish Football Association, Gordon Smith, has confirmed that, following a meeting of the four associations in Cardiff last Monday, the principle of a Celtic Cup competition involving the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales has been all but agreed. The delegates from each nation will report back to their respective management bodies and further discussions will take place in the near future.

St Kevin's start league campaign on a bright note...04/09/2007
The RISSC (London) sponsored St Kevin's Boys Under 15 Premier side, scored successive 3-1 victories in their opening DDSL league fixtures. Goals from Anto Bolger, Conor Murphy and Sean Stewart secured the opening success over newly promoted St Joseph's Boys. St Kevin's travelled to WFTA on Tuesday evening and Anto Bolger with 2 and new signing Danny Murphy scored the goals.
