Ten men RISSC (London) earn valuable away point...30/11/2008
APFSCIL League First Division leaders RISSC (London) were held to a one all draw in Chiswick this afternoon by the League's only unbeaten side, London Hibs SC. A bright start, with a goal on twenty minutes from Louis Anderson, was blighted somewhat, when the scorer was dismissed some nine minutes later for a second bookable offence. The remaining ten men, with goalkeeper Darren Nolan in fine form, performed heroically, but were undone mid way through the second half when they conceded a disappointing equaliser.

U19 star Lanre Oyebanjo in FA Cup action...30/11/2008
Ireland Under 19 defender Lanre Oyebanjo, who was a member of the squad which last week qualified for the Elite Group stage of the 2009 UEFA Championships, played a full part in today's televised FA Cup second round tie when his Blue Square Premier League side Histon FC scored a one nil victory over Leeds United.
The third round draw sees Histon again drawn at home, this time against Championship side Swansea City.


Terry Conroy to be new Welfare Officer ...30/11/2008
The Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheal Martin T.D. and Chief Executive of the FAI, John Delaney, have announced the appointment of Terry Conroy as the new Welfare Officer for young Irish footballers in Britain. Terry Conroy was capped twenty seven times by Ireland and spent most of his professional football career with Stoke City.


Fabulous FAI Cup Final at the RDS Ballsbridge...23/11/2008
The eagerly awaited 2008 FAI Ford Cup Final between eircom League Champions Bohemian FC and cup specialists Derry City lived up to all expectations at the RDS this afternoon. The honours, and the League and Cup double, ultimately went to Bohemian FC, following a penalty shoot-out, but the 'Candystripes' made a magnificent contribution to the occasion and many will feel that they deserved victory over the course of the game

RISSC (London) in league action this afternoon...23/11/2008
APFSCIL League First Division leaders RISSC (London) travelled to Chiswick this afternoon and with Mick Conway and Jason Clifford in commanding form, collected another three points with a four three success against London Scottish SC in wet and windy conditions.

Mervue United stun Kildare in First Division play-off ...21/11/2008
Non-league side Mervue United from Galway, shocked Kildare County with a three nil second leg away victory in the play-off for inclusion in the League of Ireland First Division next season. A Dave O'Brien goal from a free kick after fifteen minutes and a second half brace from David Goldbey created history this evening. The first leg ended two all and Mervue win on a five two aggregate. It remains to be seen what Mervue will decide to do in relation to entry to the League of Ireland, but for the moment they will enjoy this stunning success.


'Sources' hint at Argentina to open new Lansdowne...21/11/2008
Newspaper reports, this morning suggest that Argentina will be the visitors when the Republic of Ireland play their first game in the new Lansdowne Road. The opening soccer fixture at the revamped venue is pencilled in for Wednesday 18 August 2010.


Ireland disappointingly fail to glimmer in the fall...19/11/2008
Croke Park on a mid November evening, it was dismal, it was dreary and it was dull but at least the weather was kind and the hordes of Polish supporters brought their own kind of warmth to the occasion, as their red and white clad heroes brushed aside the 'boys in green'. The hugely disappointing performance of the Irish team is the descriptive subject and save for the excitement, even eurphoria of the final four minutes, which contained three goals, two of them for Ireland courtesy of a Stephen Hunt penalty and a fine strike from debutant Keith Andrews, this was a night, a performance for cautious consumption and worried reflection.


First Division first leg play-off this evening...18/11/2008
The first leg of the play-off for inclusion in the League of Ireland First Division next season, took place this evening in Fahy's Field, when non-league side Mervue United from Galway drew two all with Kildare County who finished bottom of the Division in the season which has just ended. The hosts swept into a two nil first half lead through Ollie Keogh and Dave Goldbey, but the visitors recovered and a second half brace from Phil Hughes makes them favaouites to retain their League position in the second leg which is set for Newbridge on Friday evening.


Sligo Rovers grasp final UEFA place in league finale...14/11/2008
The UEFA Cup place reserved for the club finishing fourth in the eircom Premier Division went to Sligo Rovers, following their two nil home victory over Bray Wanderers. First half goals from Mauro Almeida and Conor O'Grady brought joy for the 'Bit o' Red' as Cork City went down three one to League Champions Bohemian FC in Dalymount Park.

APFSCIL League leaders RISSC (London) travelled to Chiswick this afternoon where an early Ray Logue goal proved the winner in a nail biting encounter with closest challengers Middlesbrough SC.
