Givens and Howe to form Recruitment Panel30/11/2007
The Board of Management of the Football Association of Ireland has appointed, current under 21 manager Don Givens and former Arsenal and England coach Don Howe as the Recruitment Panel to interview and appoint the next manager of the Republic of Ireland. The duo has been provided with the full criteria and terms attaching to the appointment and have discretion to involve a further panel member should they so wish.


U16s concede last minute equaliser in Belgium...29/11/2007
Having dominated large parts of the game, the Vincent Butler managed Ireland Under 16 side was disappointed to concede a last minute equaliser to hosts Belgium in Liege this afternoon. An opportunistic goal from German born striker Selcuk Tidim, after half an hour, gave Ireland a deserved lead, but failure to extend the advantage enabled the hosts to level three minutes into added time. Manager Butler expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players today and also in Tuesday's scoreless encounter. Ireland travel to France next week for another double header with the host nation.


St Kevin's Boys demolish Belfast Schools League...28/11/2007
A four goal first half salvo from the RISSC (London) sponsored St Kevin's Boys Premier Under 15 side, representing the Dublin & District Schoolboy League (DDSL), tore apart the Belfast Schools League at Mobhi Road this afternoon. St Kevin's, shorn of five Internationals, on duty in Belgium, ran out 6-1 winners, with Galway's Ethan Mannion scoring four, together with a brace from Danny Murphy, who joined the Club at the start of this season.


Under 17s face mammoth UEFA Elite Stage challenge28/11/2007
Ireland's Under 17 side was today drawn in Group 1 of the Elite Qualifying Stage for the 2008 UEFA Championships with Germany, Portugal and Greece. Sean McCaffrey's charges face an enormous challenge to reach the Finals in Turkey, as only the Group winners qualify.


Under 16s earn well deserved draw in Liege...27/11/2007
The Ireland Under 16 side, managed by Vincent Butler, played out an evenly contested scoreless draw with hosts Belgium in Liege this afternoon. Ireland were without the injured Robbie Brady but the four remaining players from St Kevin's Boys all took their place in the starting eleven. The sides meet again on Thursday 29 November 2007

Green light for Celtic Nations Tournament...26/11/2007
A statement has been released confirming that the Football Associations of Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales have agreed in principle to set-up a series of three bienniel tournaments to be played on a league basis. The first tournament will commence in 2009, with home and away games being rotated from one tournament to the next

RISSC football team stun APFSCIL league leaders...25/11/2007
Goalkeeper Darren Nolan made a series of brilliant saves to inspire RISSC (London) to an outstanding 1-0 victory over previously unbeaten First Division leaders London Hibs SC this afternoon. The result should give a major confidence boost to the team as they prepare for next Sunday's Dave Baister Cup tie with Manchester City SC, who humbled them 5-2 in their September league encounter


Butler's Boys bound for Belgium...25/11/2007
The Vincent Butler managed Republic of Ireland Under 16 squad of eighteen flew to Brussels today for two fixtures with Belgium on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th November. The squad includes five representatives from St Kevin's Boys: Anthony Bolger, Robert Brady, Jeff Hendrick, Conor Murphy and a first call up for wide midfielder Sean Stewart who has been in sparkling form for the club this season.


'B' International finishes all square20/11/2007
The Ireland International 'B' side performed with great credit in their 1-1 draw with Scotland in Airdrie tonight. The goal came from full back Richie Byrne of Aberdeen, who was a second half substitute. There were fine performances from Blackpool winger Wes Hoolahan and Mark Yeates of Colchester United.


Under 21s score last minute winner in Athlone20/11/2007
Substitute John Joe O’Toole of Watford headed home an Eddie Nolan cross, 2 minutes into added time, to secure a first U21 UEFA Championship victory for Ireland which lifts them above the Bulgarians in Qualifying Group 3. Defender Nolan has just joined Hartlepool United on loan from Blackburn Rovers, to gain first team experience.


Derry City win play-off for Setanta Cup place...19/11/2007
In tonight's play-off, first half goals from Pat McCourt and Sean Hargan gave Derry City a 2-1 victory over First Division champions Cobh Ramblers, for whom Davin O'Neill scored just after the hour mark, and a place in the 2008 Setanta Cup.


St Kevin's Boys through in SFAI Cup opener...18/11/2007
St Kevin's Boys Under 15 side opened the defence of their SFAI National Cup with a commanding 3-0 success over St Francis FC in a damp and dismal Dublin this afternoon. Recent signing Jean Biansumba opened his account for the team, with Ethan Mannion and Sean Stewart adding the other goals.


Under 21s suffer disappointing defeat...16/11/2007
The Republic of Ireland Under 21 side lost their third successive UEFA 2009 fixture by the only goal against Montenegro in Podgorica this afternoon. Ireland conceded a goal after five minutes and despite having several good opportunites could not find an equaliser. Ireland now meet Bulgaria in Athlone at 7.00pm on Tuesday 20 November 2007 and will be desperate to score their first goal in these qualifiers and collect some points.


Dr Tony O'Neill U21 League Title for UCD...15/11/2007
Two hugely committed teams contested tonight's Dr Tony O'Neill U21 League decider in Belfield Park. UCD and St Patrick's Athletic could not be separated in both normal and extra time and the tie ended scoreless. The destiny of the Trophy was decided by a penalty shoot-out and the 'Students' prevailed on a 4-2 scoreline.


U18s score deserved success in Germany...15/11/2007
The Republic of Ireland Under18 team recovered from Tuesday's defeat by Germany to score an excellent 3-2 victory in Hassfurt this morning. Ireland took an early lead through an own goal and two further strikes from Hamilton Academicals star Jamie McCarthy ensured a well merited win.


Historic victory for Under 23s in Dalymount Park...13/11/2007
The Republic of Ireland U23 team, drawn exclusively from the eircom League of Ireland, defeated Slovakia 2-0 in Dalymount Park tonight in a UEFA approved International Tournament. Gavin Peers, after 26 minutes, and Killian Brennan, seven minutes later, scored the goals. In their next Group encounter the side, managed by Pat Fenlon, will travel to meet Northern Ireland in the spring of 2008, before hosting Belgium later next year.

The RISSC (London) sponsored St Kevin's Boys Under 15 premier side won an exciting top of the table DDSL encounter with second placed Cherry Orchard this morning. The 3-2 victory was secured through goals from Irish underage international trio Jeff Hendrick, Conor Murphy and
Eoin Wearen.

Under 18s slump to heavy defeat in Germany...13/11/2007

arly preparations for next year's UEFA Qualifiers received quite a jolt when the Republic of Ireland Under 18 team was defeated 4-0 by Germany before 5,000 spectators in Weisman today. The two sides meet again on Thursday 15 November and Ireland coach Joe Boyle will be looking for a much improved performance from the team

Under 21 Squad selected for two matches...06/11/2007
Don Givens
has named his squad for the Under 21 UEFA qualifiers with Montenegro and Bulgaria. Newcomers to the squad are midfielders
Chris McCann of Burnley, Watford's John Joe O'Toole and Keith Treacy from Blackburn Rovers. Givens will miss the first fixture as he takes charge of the senior side and U19 manager Sean McCaffrey will step into the role.

St Kevin's Boys drop valuable points...04/11/2007
Coach Paul Boyle was deeply disappointed as his St Kevin's Boys Under 15 side was held to a 1-1 draw by Shelbourne this morning, despite dominating the vast majority of the game. The Boys created several excellent scoring chances but were unable to add to their early goal. They paid the penalty late on, when the visitors equalised following a lapse in defensive concentration.

Under 19s recover to mount challenge...03/11/2007
The Republic of Ireland Under 19 side defeated Andorra 3-0 in their second UEFA Championship Qualifying Group 1 fixture in Vila do Conde this afternoon. A much improved performance against Andorra, whom Portugal struggled to beat 1-0 in the first round, gives Ireland a chance to progress to the Elite Stage when they face the hosts on Tuesday afternoon. Ireland's goals came from Graham Carey, Michael Daly and David Hutton.
