St Kevin's Boys scrape vital point against Belvedere...27/04/2008
Substitute Danny Murphy rescued St Kevin's Boys with an injury time equaliser in their top of the table clash with Belvedere in Fairview Park this morning. St Kevin's went behind after three minutes when a poor pass was intercepted and despite the efforts of goalkeeper Ryan Kinsella, who blocked the first shot, the follow up was converted to put the hosts in front. St Kevin's equalised four minutes later when the home goalkeeper felled Ethan Mannion as he homed in on goal. The resultant free kick was exquisitly dispatched to the roof of the net by Conor Carberry. The hosts dominated much of the second half and it came as no surprise when they regained the lead with ten minutes remaining. The St Kevin's lads battled valiantly in the closing minutes and their never say die attitude led to the added time equaliser which was superbly converted by Murphy.


Ireland Junior International side held by Scotland...26/04/2008
The Republic of Ireland Junior International side, managed by Gerry Smith, completed the Umbro Quadrangular Tournament with a one all draw against Scotland on the Isle of Man this afternoon. A David Lacey goal secured a point for Ireland, but it was not enough to prevent Scotland lifting the Trophy. Ireland will have the opportunity to redress the balance later this year, when the two sides meet in the qualifying stage of the UEFA Regions Cup.


UCD Defeat St Patrick's Athletic in League Cup...21/04/2008
Late goals from Ewan McMillan and John Reilly secured a two nil League Cup Round Two victory for UCD over Premier League leaders St Patrick's Athletic in the Belfield Bowl tonight.


St Kevin's Boys through to SFAI Cup Final...20/04/2008
St Kevin's Boys dominated this SFAI Cup semi-final against Kilreen Celtic, but were unable to make the breakthrough until ten minutes from time. Jeff Hendrick reacted quickest to an Ethan Mannion shot, which rebounded off the post, to shoot home. St Kevin's looked safe but, with seconds remaining the visitors equalised with a spectacular thirty yard shot. Extra-time brought no goals and the tie went to a penalty shoot-out. Strikes from Jean Biansumba, Conor Carberry and Ethan Mannion coupled with two superb Ryan Kinsella saves, saw the boys through.

Irish Schools defeat English Schools this evening...18/04/2008
The FAI Schools scored a one nil victory over their English counterparts in their final Centenary Shield fixture played at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland on Friday evening. A thirty ninth minute penalty, earned and converted by leading goalscorer John Mulroy, set the seal on a fine performance and gave the Irish Schools the Championship Trophy

UEFA Under 17 Finals draw made in Antalya today...03/04/2008
The draw for the Under 17 European Championship Finals was made in Antalya, Turkey this afternoon. The finals comprise two groups of four, with the winners and runners-up in both groups qualifying for the semi-final stage. The Republic of Ireland are joined in Group B by France, Spain and Switzerland. Group A is headed by hosts Turkey together with Holland, Scotland and Serbia. The finals kick-off on Sunday 4 May 2008 with Ireland facing France in their opening encounter.


Ireland hold Germany in Listowel this afternoon...10/04/2008
Kerry hosted it's first ever soccer international, when the Republic of Ireland Under 16 side met Germany this afternoon in Listowel.
Ireland manager Vincent Butler gave starting opportunities to those squad members who were not involved on Tuesday night in Blarney including local players David Culhane and Bryan Murphy. A magnificent crowd of approaching 3,000 was in attendance to witness an enthralling encounter. Germany took a very early lead but after some twenty minutes, Ireland settled and played a significant part in the remainder of the match. Their efforts received just reward some eight minutes from time, when substitute Sean Skelly scored a deserved equaliser.


Butler's Boys go down to Germany in Blarney...08/04/2008
The Republic of Ireland Under 16 team, managed by Vincent Butler, was defeated by Germany in O'Shea Park, Blarney this evening. The only goal of the game came on the stroke of half-time when a German corner was fired home following a goalmouth scramble. Ireland produced a much better second half performance, but could not find an equaliser. Irish players who caught the eye were Donegal custodian Ciaran Gallagher of Castlefin FC, centre backs John Egan from Greenwood FC and Kilreen Celtic star Anthony O'Connor who was captain on the night. Two-Mile Borris/St Kevin's FC striker Michael Rafter also battled valiantly up front.


St Kevin's Boys continue charge for League Title...06/04/2008
St Kevin's Boys continued their push for the DDSL U15 League Championship with a comfortable three nil success over Confey at St Catherine's Park this morning. A brace of goals from Danny Murphy and another from Ethan Mannion secured the victory. Title rivals Belvedere, also scored a three nil success over St Joseph's Boys this morning.
